About

Existential Press creates original paper goods and tools for making, designed in Melbourne by Amelia.

The debut collection includes large flat cards made to be kept, bookmarks, deeply etched self-clinging stamps, clear acrylic blocks with exclusive laser-engraved motifs, corn-based washi tape in three widths and meticulously curated sticker sheets in mini and MEGA formats.

Each series begins with purpose and narrative: a story or a desire to give a concept visual form. They may look visually distinct but they are linked by intent and by a driving urge to express stories of human existence.

The collection explores the enduring love and commitment we have for the beings who share our lives; difference and the possibility of perfect affection beyond the boundaries society places on love; the extremes of black and white and the richness found in the grey; and our connection with objects as story, memento, protection, aspiration and identity.

Elsewhere, graveyards and monuments become expressions of enduring love with nowhere else to go. They are reminders that all moments count, showing care matters and some sentiments are everlasting. A celebration of life with a nod to the great beyond.

These ideas take form through hand lettering, photography, visual word poems and motifs designed to be combined, collected and repeated. The Create Your Own Graveyard Scene stamp range allows individual monuments to become complete landscapes.

Materials are chosen for each form. Cards and bookmarks are duplex printed in Melbourne on premium-quality heavy FSC-certified stock. Washi tapes use corn-based paper, water-based inks and plastic-free boxes. Sticker sheets use the same washi paper and inks as the tape.
